Pyrite Remediation Programme Issues

119. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government with regard to the audit being conducted on a number of the houses which submitted building conditions assessment as part of the pyrite remediation process, if he deems it appropriate that those conducting the audit have not completed the required Engineers Ireland course to be accepted on the Pyrite Designated Professionals Register or the Pyrite Assessors Register. This is an operational matter and as such it is a matter for the Pyrite Resolution Board, which has statutory responsibility for the pyrite remediation scheme, to determine the appropriate level of expertise and training required by staff undertaking the audit process.
