435. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government the position regarding the establishment of the Planning Regulator; if this has been set up, if it will be publicly announced; if members of the public contact the Planning Regulator if they have a grievance with the planning process or section in their area; the way they can do this; if the planning regulator will be able to investigate planning errors/cases retrospectively; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer to the reply to Question No. 377 of 1 April, 2014.

My Department is giving consideration to the detailed issues to be addressed with regard to the establishment of the Office of the Planning Regulator, including those raised in the Question, in the preparation of the forthcoming General Scheme of a new Planning and Development Bill. It is intended that the General Scheme of the new Bill will be published in the coming months.
