367. To ask the Minister for Social Protection when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a decision regarding their invalidity pension arrears; if these arrears will be backdated to when they initially made their claim in October 2012; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Invalidity Pension was awarded to the person concerned from 10thOctober 2013 and she will receive her first payment on 16thApril 2014. Arrears due from that date have also issued to the person concerned.
In view of the particular circumstances of this case, a deciding officer has reviewed the case and has decided that it is in order to further backdate invalidity pension to the date the person concerned applied for disability allowance. The person concerned is therefore entitled to further arrears which will issue in due course.
