1244. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport in view of the long delays in receiving appointments with the national driver licence service and the imperative of obtaining a replacement licence at short notice when a licence is damaged, if there are any plans in place to allow for a drop-in service in addition to the appointment system already operating; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The operation of the National Driver Licensing Service is the statutory responsibility of the Road Safety Authority.  I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply.  I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
