The individual referred to by the Deputy made enquiries of the Health Service Executive regarding the payment of her mobility allowance at 8.11am on the 12th February and the Health Service Executive responded to her query at 1.26pm the same day explaining that the delay in the payment reaching her bank account was not an error on the Health Service Executive’s part, but as a result of a change to banking as part of the new Single European Payment Area arrangements. She was advised to contact her bank as it was not an issue the HSE had the power to resolve on her behalf. In my view, and I am sure the Deputy will agree, the HSE responded to this personal query in an efficient and timely manner given the urgency expressed by the individual in relation to her payment.
