The HSE National Audiology Review Group (NARG) Report, published in April 2011, identified some inconsistencies and shortcomings in audiology services around the country, including unacceptable waiting times, and made recommendations to address these issues. An Audiology Clinical Care Programme has been put in place under the Clinical Strategy and Programmes Directorate and the implementation of the recommendations of the National Audiology Review Group are being progressed. The HSE has been asked to examine the specific query raised by the Deputy concerning services in Co. Laois and to reply to him as soon as possible.
