399. To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht his plans to extend the boundaries in and around the Lough Lurgeen-Glenameady Turlough raised bog special area of conservation, County Galway, in order for the cessation of the turf cutting compensation scheme to apply to the said bog; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no plans to extend the boundary of this Special Area of Conservation. Proposals for the future restoration and management of this site, and how the needs of turf-cutters there are to be addressed, are set out in the Draft National Raised Bog Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) Management Plan which is available on my Department’s website at.
