A switchdesk service is provided to my Department by Éircom. Two Telephonists are provided to operate the telephone switchdesk.

This arrangement originates from a time when telephonist services were provided to all Government Departments by the Department of Post and Telegraphs. This arrangement has met the Department’s needs for a prolonged period.
