The Chairperson of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC) has traditionally been Secretary General of my Department. I appointed the current Secretary General as Chairperson of the NESC and Chairperson of the National Economic and Social Development Office (NESDO) with effect from 1 August 2011 for a five year term.

Section 18 of the the Statistics Act 1993 sets out the composition and membership of the National Statistics Board (NSB). The NSB comprises a Chairperson and seven Board members.

The Chairperson of the NSB who was in situ when I took office in 2011 was reappointed as Chairperson of the NSB in 2013.
