533. To ask the Minister for Defence the number of Army personnel currently located at Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa in County Galway; the way this number has changed since his announcement of the re-organisation of the Permanent Defence Force; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2291/14]

The military authorities have advised that, as of 20 December 2013, the number of Defence Forces personnel of all ranks located at Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa, Co. Galway, was 434. This reflects an increase of 144 on the number of Defence Forces personnel located there on 30 November 2012. I am satisfied that the changes brought about by the re-organisation of the Permanent Defence Force ensure that the Defence Forces organisational structures are configured to maximise required capabilities.
