There is no mechanism currently available for a teacher to transfer from one Education Board to another.

The focus of the cross sectoral redeployment arrangements for teachers is on facilitating the redeployment of surplus permanent and CID holding teachers into vacancies in other schools or Education Training Boards.

Education and Training Boards or VECs have not, to date, been in a surplus position so the issue of redeployment from them has not yet arisen.
