344. To ask the Minister for Social Protection if a person currently on jobseeker's allowance, and who meets all the qualifying criteria for a place on the community employment scheme, commences on the scheme and then subsequently receives a lump sum and no longer meets the criteria for jobseeker's allowance, will be allowed to remain on the community employment scheme for the duration of the place; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Once a person has been deemed eligible to participate and commences on the Community Employment (CE) programme they remain on CE for the duration of their annual contract. They may also be retained for further time on CE if their CE Supervisor and the DSP officer agree to the extension of participation.
