211. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if he is aware of the failure of the Skillnets programme to meet its targets in terms of providing training to recipients of jobseeker payments; and if the shortfall has any impact on the delivery of Pathways to Work. [43374/13]

Under the Skillnets' funding mandate with my Department, Skillnets are required to provide training and related services to 40,000 persons or the equivalent in training days (200,000). Of this total figure, training and related services must be provided to 8,000 unemployed or part-time workers, or to the equivalent in training days (47,500). In 2012, Skillnets delivered 53,381 training days to unemployed or part-time workers, which was 12% above target.
