365. To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht his views on whether natural heritage should be added to the list of activities for which lottery funding is available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39824/13]

I raised this matter with my colleague, the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Mr Brendan Howlin, T.D., during discussions on the proposed new National Lottery Act 2013, which was signed into law on 14th of May last. I am happy to confirm that, following my request to the Minister, the ‘natural environment’ has been included in s.41(1) of the Act, as a potential beneficiary of money from the National Lottery.
