The person concerned is currently in receipt of a carer's allowance. Therefore, signing for credits to maintain her insurance record for the purposes of contributory pension is not necessary as credits are automatically given to cover periods of receipt of carer's allowance.

The person concerned will not reach State pension age until 2025. It is important to note that State pension entitlements are assessed on the basis of the eligibility conditions applicable on the date the applicant reaches pension age. However, in order to assist her in assessing her possible future State pension entitlements, she is being forwarded a copy of her PRSI record, which is a full representation of her social insurance contribution record as currently held by the Department, together with information explaining how entitlement to State pension is currently assessed. The Department's website also provides comprehensive information in relation to State pension entitlements.
