I have approved a recommendation from the Central Bank to issue a small gold collector coin in 2014 to mark the millennium of the Battle of Clontarf. It is likely that the coin will be issued in May 2014 with an issue limit of approximately 10,000. The Central Bank will announce further details in due course.
