183. To ask the Minister for Finance the VAT revenue generated from tourism-related industries that are currently covered by the 9% VAT rate in the years 2008 to 2012, inclusive. [39345/13]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that details from tax returns are not captured in such a way as to provide a basis for compiling the statistical information sought by the Deputy. However, when the 9% VAT rate was introduced as part of the Jobs Initiative in 2011, it was estimated to cost €350 million in a full year.
