National Transport Authority

1681. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the reason Irish Rail's contract with the National Transport Authority only specifies the number of trains it has to run, as opposed to a minimum capacity level; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [38355/13]

The issue raised is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have referred the Deputy's question to it for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
