1607. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if Iarnrod Eireann is in breach of any data, privacy or other laws by requiring that all customers purchasing a ticket on-line register an on-line account with the company which holds personal information and is it not the case that they are required to offer an alternative method of payment on-line that does not require the registering of said personal account. The issue raised is a matter for Iarnród Éireann and I have passed the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
