Section 14 of the Building Control Act 2007 provides among other things for the prescription of educational bodies or qualifications whose graduates may be recognised, subject to certain other requirements being fulfilled, as eligible for inclusion on the register of architects as established under the Act. An application for prescription is currently under consideration by my Department in respect of an M. Arch qualification jointly provided by University College Cork and Cork Institute of Technology. The matter is currently receiving attention and will be dealt with expeditiously.
