The Athlone Sewerage Scheme is included in my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2010 - 2013 as a scheme to start and is made up of several contracts, including a contract for the upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant.

Westmeath County Council have submitted a project inception report to my Department and this is currently under consideration.
