405. To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht his plans to enhance Dublin’s stature as a UNESCO City of Literature; if he has advanced proposals to ensure the former Houses of Parliament on College Green are continually available for arts and cultural events; if he has assessed the viability of these plans; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Dublin City Council is the body responsible for the programme under UNESCO City of Literature and my Department contributes annual funding towards that programme. As I have indicated in previous replies I have been in dialogue with the Bank of Ireland in relation to the College Green Branch, the former Parliament Building and that will continue.
