To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government if there has been an analysis of the greenhouse gas emissions from Ireland's three peat burning power stations and how this contributes to our carbon emissions; what those emissions are on an annual basis from 2007 to date per station; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no function in regard to the operation of the energy facilities in question. Overall responsibility for the energy sector rests with my colleague, the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, while the Environmental Protection Agency compiles Ireland’s annual greenhouse gas emissions inventories and projections.
