726. To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if there has been an analysis of the greenhouse gas emissions from Ireland's three peat burning power stations and the way this contributes to our carbon emissions; what those emissions are on an annual basis from 2007 to date in 2013 per station; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions and their impact is a matter for the Environmental Protection Agency, a body under the aegis of the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government. My Department does not engage in such monitoring activities.
