I would like to refer the Deputy to my response to a question tabled by him on 2 July 2013 (PQ 31994/13 refers), which sets out that the Arbitration Rules for use with the Public Works and Construction Services Contracts (AR1) requires that each arbitrator appointed to an arbitration case under the Capital Works Management Framework to notify the National Public Procurement Policy Unit (NPPPU) in my Department of their appointment within 14 days after accepting appointment. Notification of arbitrations to the NPPPU is a matter for the arbitrators appointed to a case and is not the responsibility of the individual Department or agency involved. To date one notification of appointment has been received in my Department.
