As outlined in reply to PQ number 472 of 25 June last, the number of persons granted leave to remain following consideration of their individual cases under Section 3 of the Immigration Act 1999 for the period 2008 - 2010 are published in the Justice Annual Report . The corresponding figures for 2011 are 1,101 and provisional figures for 2012 and to the end of June this year are 564 and 261 respectively. For the sake of completeness, many other immigrants are routinely granted permission to reside in the State by virtue of their status as immigrant spouses, workers, students and so forth.
