I propose to take Questions Nos. 538 and 539 together.
The Cross-Departmental Group on Migrant Integration was established in June 2008 and met three times. In addition to my own Department, the membership would include representatives of the Departments of the Taoiseach, Public Expenditure and Reform, Education and Skills, the Environment, Community and Local Government, Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Health, Children, Social Protection, Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and Transport, Tourism and Sport and the Central Statistics Office.
The Ministerial Council on Integration was established during the previous administration in the form of regional forums, each of which met once on the following dates: Connacht/Ulster 7 October 2010; Dublin 14 October 2010; Rest of Leinster 1 November 2010; and Munster 11 November 2010.
In this context I am currently giving consideration to what structures may be needed in order to promote migrant integration going forward.
