651. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the social inclusion measures, in terms of participation, that are required of those sporting organisations in receipt of funds from the Irish Sports Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30114/13]

The Irish Sports Council, which is funded by my Department, is the statutory body with responsibility for the promotion, development and co-ordination of sport.  This includes responsibility for the recognition of sporting organisations as National Governing Bodies of sport and the allocation of funding to those bodies. As this question is a matter for the Irish Sports Council, I have referred it to the Council for direct reply.  I would ask the Deputy to inform my office if a reply is not received within 10 days.
