To ask the Minister for Health the extent to which central procurement in terms of medicine, drugs or services in the health sector is organised in order to give maximum benefit and efficiency to the tax payer when possible and that local indigenous providers have ample opportunity to compete for the provision of all such goods and services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. All Government Departments and Agencies funded by the Exchequer must comply with EU Directives and national guidelines on procurement.
