Since my initial announcement on the Dog Microchipping Initiative several dozen submissions have been made in relation to this initiative, including from those parties which had previously indicated a keen interest in the area. While I am anxious to ensure an input from all interested parties, I do not currently believe that extending the deadline will make a significant difference to the consideration of my Department of the issue.
