I have been informed by the Garda Commissioner that the number of members, broken down by rank, who have retired from the force on voluntary, compulsory or other grounds, in the years ending 31 December 2008 to 2012 and up to 30 April 2013, the latest date for which figures are readily available, is set out in the table hereunder:
