214. To ask the Minister for Finance the amount of revenue that would be generated from imposing an extra 2 cents on a pint of alcohol or a packet of twenty cigarettes into the Exchequer. [24148/13]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the yield from an extra 2 cents on a pint of beer would be €13.8 million in a full year and the yield from an extra 2 cents on a packet of twenty cigarettes would be €3.1 million in a full year.
