578. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine in view of the fact that livestock export is vital at present, if the live export to Libya is still open; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23973/13]

The Libyan market remains open to Irish male cattle under 24 months and two shipments have been exported so far this year.

Continued trade with Libya is a commercial matter, but there is no impediment as regards animal health or transport requirements.
