452. To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the number of turf cutters that have applied for the compensation payment, the relocation option and the turf delivery scheme on each of the 53 raised bog special areas of conservation; the number of turf cutters that have availed of the three schemes; and the total number of turf cutters affected on each bog in tabular form. 2,668 applications for compensation under the cessation of turf cutting compensation scheme have been received and acknowledged by my Department. 780 of these applicants have expressed an interest in relocation to non-designated bogs. A total of 2,219 payments and 205 deliveries of turf have been made in respect of the applications received.

Details of the cessation of turf cutting compensation scheme figures, on a bog by bog basis, are available on the website of the National Parks and Wildlife Service of my Department at http://www.npws.ie/peatlandsturfcutting/turfcutting/compensationschemestatistics/.
