To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality if the law is adequate to deal with gangs who are involved in stealing clothes from charity banks and cause criminal damage to the clothes banks; the law and penalties that apply; the number of prosecutions that have taken place over the past five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have requested a report from the Garda Commissioner on the issues surrounding the theft of clothes from charity clothes banks. I will contact the Deputy directly when the report is to hand.
