To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government the number of requests received in the period 1 October 2012 to 30 March 2013 from Galway City Council seeking sanction to fill positions at the local authority; the outcome of each of these requests; the nature of each of the positions; and the term of the contract in each case where the filling of the position was sanctioned. My Department received nine staff sanction requests in the period 1 October 2012 to 30 March 2013 from Galway City Council. The information requested in relation to these sanction requests is set out in the following table.
