To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will reject any proposal from the Road Safety Authority to stop persons from selling vegetables on the roadsides; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16852/13]

I would direct the Deputy's attention to the provisions of Section 71 of the Roads Act 1993, as amended, which sets out the statutory position in relation to the sale of goods on a public road.
