To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if payments or funding are available to landowners whose land and fields have been damaged by the River Slaney bursting its banks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16620/13]

The management of flooding in river catchments is the responsibility of the Office of Public Works. Farmers affected by flooding in the Slaney catchment should contact the Office of Public Works locally for advice on the best course of action available.

Regrettably, I do not have funds available to my Department to support the farmers concerned.
