To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will direct Iarnród Éireann to immediately add carriages to the Dublin to Westport / Ballina train service to address the regular overcrowding on the train which is a health and safety concern and to improve the service particularly in this year of The Gathering; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue raised is a matter for Iarnród Éireann in conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
