To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality if his attention has been drawn to allegations of a miscarriage of justice in respect of a person (details supplied); the position regarding their application for legal aid under Section 2 of the Criminal Procledure Act 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application to the Court may be made, in certain circumstances, under section 2 of the Criminal Procedure Act 1993 for an order quashing a conviction or reviewing a sentence. I have no function in relation to such matters. Similarly, the consideration of applications for legal aid is a matter for the courts.
