To ask the Minister for Social Protection the reason a participant of a community employment scheme is ineligible from applying for a position as a TÚS scheme supervisor when a TÚS participant is eligible to apply; the grounds on which a community employment participant is prevented from applying; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Eligibility for supervisory/team leader positions on Tús is the same for participants, i.e. it is confined to those on the Live Register for at least 12 months and in receipt of jobseeker’s allowance at the time of application. Eligibility for the Tús Supervisor/Team Leader position also includes person who are engaged on Tús at the time of application. A person on a community employment scheme does not meet the criteria as they are not in receipt of a jobseekers payment. Tús is focused on those on the Live Register for a year or more and have more limited job opportunities.
