To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the protections he will provide to small farmers who have to make earnings outside of agriculture so that their initiative to work an extra job will not be detrimental to their farm related entitlements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Earnings outside of agriculture do not affect entitlements to the Single Farm Payment or to Disadvantaged Area Payments. Total income is assessed by the Revenue Commissioners for income tax and any queries concerning taxation regulations should be directed to them.
