To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government the number of persons in arrears on their rental of local authority housing; if he will provide a breakdown of these figures down by local authority and length of time in arrears; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department collates and publishes a wide range of housing and planning statistics that inform the preparation and evaluation of policy, and those data are available on my Department’s website . Data on rent arrears owing to local authorities are included within this range. However, these data are not broken down by the number of households or by the length of time in arrears. Statistics in relation to 2012 are currently being collated.
