Under 2012 Disadvantaged Areas Scheme, there are two criteria to be satisfied in relation to horses. First, the holding itself must meet the definition of an Equine Breeding Enterprise and second, horses, in order to be taken into account for stocking density purposes, must be aged one to five years and, where older, must be a breeding mare for the purposes of the Scheme.

While the person named submitted three equine passports to my Department, as none was in respect of a breeding mare that foaled in either 20099,2010 or 2011, the scheme criteria have not been met. Accordingly, no payment is due under the 2012 Scheme. The applicant was advised of the position by letter dated 16 November 2012.
