To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will report on the progress made to date of the stakeholder group which is undertaking a national review of speed limits; if he will outline when the group will report; his views that legislation may be necessary arising out of the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The work of the stakeholder group established by my Department to progress the Speed Limits Review is nearing completion and I expect to receive the final report of the Group shortly. While I will give careful consideration to implementing any recommendations that emerge from the Report, I do not propose to speculate on possible legislation at this time.
