To ask the Minister for Social Protection if she will indicate eligibility for illness benefit in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who was self-employed up until 2009 and previously on jobseeker's allowance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4614/13]

The person concerned was previously self-employed and paying PRSI contributions at class S. Class S contributions are not reckonable for illness benefit purposes. Only PRSI contributions paid at classes A, E, H and P count towards payment of Illness Benefit.
