Additional service development funding was allocated to the Health Service Executive in 2009 to address priority service pressures in the area of metabolic diseases, including the development of an adult metabolic service. In relation to the particular query raised by the Deputy, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond directly to the Deputy regarding the progress made to date in this matter.
