To ask the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation if he will outline in tabular form the number of prospective client visits by the Industrial Development Agency to each county in the country and in the case of Dublin to each local authority area in 2011 and in 2012; the number of IDA supported jobs in each county and in the case of Dublin in each local authority area in 2011 and 2012; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Forfás Annual Employment Survey reports on job gains and losses in companies that are supported by the industrial development agencies. Data is compiled on a county by county basis. Similarly IDA sponsored site visits to locations countrywide are tracked on a county by county basis
Details of the number of IDA supported jobs and site visits by potential investors to locations in Ireland on a county by county basis in each of the years 2011 and 2012 is set out in the following tabular statement.
The IDA end of year results which were published earlier this month show that 2012 was one of the best years for foreign direct investment in recent times with a net job creation figure of 6,570 the highest in a decade.
