To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality the total number of Gardaí who have retired or resigned in each of the past five years and to date in 2012; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [54800/12]

I have been informed by the Garda Commissioner that the number of Gardaí who have departed the Force in the years 2007-2011 and up to 30 November 2012 is as set out in the table.
