Following the establishment of the National Transport Authority  (NTA) on 1st December 2009, the implementation of public transport infrastructure projects in the Greater Dublin Area, such as Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI), now comes under the remit of the NTA.

In the light of the NTA's responsibility in the matter, I have referred the Deputy's question to the Authority  who will respond directly with details of the ongoing development of the RTPI system.  Please advise my private office if you don't receive a reply within 10 working days.

To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the percentage of the buses in the Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann fleet that are currently wheelchair accessible; when he expects both companies to be fully wheelchair accessible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [51769/12]

The issue raised is a matter for Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann. However, I understand from Dublin Bus that its fleet is currently 96% accessible and by mid-December will be 100% accessible. I have been advised by Bus Éireann that its City Fleet is 100% accessible. All vehicles operating on city services in Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and Sligo are accessible and close to 70 per cent of total road passenger fleet is accessible.

To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will ensure that adequate bus services are provided on the Monaghan/Castleblayney/Dublin route number 177; if his attention has been drawn to the wide-spread concern regarding proposed changes by Bus Éireann affecting this route (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue raised is a matter for Bus Éireann in conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
